After finishing The Book Thief last week, I spent my Friday 20 Time writing the review. It was a lot harder than the first book review I wrote because The Book Thief had a much more complex plot and conflicts. The problem I kept running into, was whether or not I was including the right or wrong information within the review. My goal is to have well written reviews that encourage other readers to read the book, not give enough information of what happens so that my readers already know what the book is about. In addition, last weekend I went to Barnes and Noble and brought my next book. It is called Delirium by Lauren Oliver. So far, I've read 90 pages and really like the story. The book is about 17 year old Lena, who in her dystopian society cannot wait to have the procedure, that all 18 year olds undergo, that will change her life forever by taking away the ability to love. In her world, love is the reason for all the problems that societies have. Although Lena's never loved any boy throughout her life, this trait is being challenged when she meets Alex. As a result, Lena is constantly wondering of whether or not Alex has feelings for her. This is as far as I've got in the book but I think the rest of the book will be really good and I am anxious to see where the book will end because Delirium is part of a trilogy.
Furthermore, my goal for next week will be to have read another 50 pages in Delirium. I will also be in contact with my mentor to talk about editing and revising my review for The Book Thief. I hope to have this done after Thanksgiving. Another thing I have to discuss with my mentor is if a blog will be accessible to the audience I am targeting. I've decided that a blog would be easier to create to post my book reviews on but, I am unsure if this will allow for the easy access I want my readers to have. On a last note, I will continue reading Delirium over Thanksgiving break.
