Over the past two weeks, I’ve accomplished so much for my project. My last blog post talked about how I had just finished reading Delirium. I wrote that review the beginning of this week. It was the first time I realized how much I am improving as a writer. I felt that more passion and feeling were put into this review than previous ones. Which now seem to be factual reports of what occurred in the story but, that’s not necessarily bad. However, in order to not bore readers, the reviews need to be exciting and put people on the edge of their seats just like whenever I read a book. After all, this is my goal, to get more teens reading and that can only happen if I excite people about different books first.
In addition, because I’ve finished reading Delirium, I had to pick out a new book. Instead of reading the sequel to Delirium I chose Divergent by Veronica Roth. It’s another dystopian society story but with everyone reading this series, I thought I’d give it a go and perhaps motivate the fence sitters to read it as well. At first, I was fighting against reading this book because honestly I didn’t know what it was about and thought, at the time, there were more important books to read. However, after receiving the book for Christmas, I was easily persuaded into reading it. And it was fabulous! The story is rich and has lots of action and adventures that keep you reading this book way past your bedtime. After reading Divergent, I don’t know why I ever put up a fight against it. I encourage anyone who likes The Hunger Games and the Matched trilogy to read this series.
Now, I am reading Insurgent, the sequel to Divergent and I plan to read the rest of the trilogy and write a special book review highlighting all three books; so that will be exciting. I can’t really talk about Insurgent because I don’t want to spoil it for anyone who hasn’t finished Divergent, but I will tell you I am at the part where Tris and Tobias are at the Candor headquarters.
I hope everyone had a great holiday season and nice vacation. My New Year’s resolution is to create my Blog Spot for my book reviews within the month of January. Hopefully that will take place within the next two weeks. After all, who would have thought how much time it takes to think of a creative name for my blog?
