Today, I finished reading the first book for my project. For those of you who don't know, I was reading a book entitled The Elite by Kiera Cass. Overall, I can say the book was nicely written with a good plot, and I have no doubt that I will be writing a positive review on it. I think the only thing that bothered me was how a lot of important details were written the last 20 pages from the end of the book. And spoiler-alert: there's a third book. I got really panicked the last few pages because I was so rapped up in the story I knew there was no way it could end the way I thought it was going to.... thank goodness, because if the story were to end the way most readers would assume (and I won't say what happens so that if you do decide to read this book I am not spoiling your reading experience), it would have been sad. Furthermore, the reading I finished today was very epic in a sense of the development of the story line.
In addition, next week I hope to create a website or blog space to post the review on The Elite. I am leaning more so towards creating another blog dedicated to only on the reviews of the books I will read. I think this will be a better approach than trying to create a complete website alone, as I don't know how to. Also, the setup in Blogger is the organization style that I want to use for my book reviews; as it organizes my posts by the latest updates and then in the months the posts were published. I also saw that Blogger also allows you to personalize your page, which would be nice as well.
Finally, I will also be contacting with my mentor this weekend. I will talk about recently published books and pick out a new book to read hopefully by the end of next week; and I will let you know the title as soon as I chosen the book. As of right now, I don't have any ideas of what book I should read next, but I have gotten some suggestions from friends which I really appreciate it. In the end, my over arching goal is to have provided other teenagers reviews of books that they can read in order to read more themselves, and this week was definitely a step in the right direction towards my goal.
