Hi Everyone! It’s been a busy week but, I've continued reading my new book: Tessa & Scott Our Journey from Childhood Dream to Gold. It is so interesting to read about the obstacles and hard work that Tessa and Scott had to go through in order to become the amazing skaters that everyone knows them for today. I am about half way through the book right now and their story is so inspiring. It starts from the very beginning of their skating career together and currently I am reading about the part in their life where Tessa and Scott are preparing to make their mark to get onto the Canadian Olympic team. What makes the book even greater is that there are beautiful color photos of Tessa and Scott together from early childhood to competing in the Vancouver Olympics.
Also, keep checking my website (http://jackiekbookreviews.weebly.com/ ) because a new book review will be up soon. I just finished writing the book review for United We Spy by Ally Carter. She is my favorite author, so I hope that after reading my review you will think about reading some of her work. United We Spy should be posted within the coming week or so and I will let you know next week whether it’s up or not.
Furthermore, this week has been very helpful for my speech that I have to prepare. On Friday, my teacher showed my class a video about a boy who has some disabilities but didn't let that stop him from being happy. I realized that the learning aspect of my project and speech should be about how reading makes me happy and that because I am reading, I am happier attending school every day and learning more about myself as a person. Because of this, I would say that the best thing about my 20 Time project has been that fact that it is allowing me to do something that I love every day during the school year. 20 Time is probably one of the best things that could have happened to me as a student because without I would have never realized that only focusing on my academics is not what high school is about. It’s about doing well but also doing things you love with your friends and working towards making yourself the best person that you can be for the next step in life. Therefore, there isn't anything I would change about my project, however I am dreading the fact that I have to write an eight minute speech; but I know that in time I will be ready and prepared to complete the last step in my project.

Above is the video my teacher showed my English class that inspired me for my 20 Time speech.
