I knew from the moment I started reading The Selection series it was good. In The Elite, the characters continue to develop and the conflict begins to resolve in the end of the book. However, it should be noted that there is a third book coming out soon. In general the story was really well written and I enjoyed it very much. If like the T.V. show The Bachelor and The Hunger Games series you will enjoy this book. It literally is a story of The Bachelor (drama included and all) except in the end of this competition there is a guaranteed marriage and the girl becomes a princess. Kiera Cass also pulls ideas of a dystopian country, like The Hunger Games, into the central story line, but I feel this issue will not be dealt with until the third book. It kind of acts as a little spice in the story right now but possibly foreshadows to something bigger in the upcoming book. There was only one other negative about this book, but it should not hold you back from reading it, and that is how important details and events happen very quickly in about the last 20 or so pages of the book. However, overall I would rate this book a 4 out of 5 stars because of the entertaining plot and cliffhanger ending that leaves the reader wanting more.
*NOTE: The third and final book to The Selection series entitled The One will be released on May 6, 2013.
